Judicial Evaluations Selection and Advisory Committee

The Fresno County Bar Association’s Judicial Appointments Evaluation Committee, now commonly referred to as the Judicial Evaluations Selection and Advisory Committee (JESAC), was formed in the Fall of 1999.  The purpose of the Committee has been to provide the Governor’s Appointment Secretary with a report of a particular applicant’s qualifications, based largely on the opinions of the local bar and bench, for a judicial appointment.  The Committee is made up of local attorneys and retired judges, all members the FCBA.  Since the Committee began keeping records of its activity, around 2003, the Committee has evaluated close to 100 applicants, with approximately 60% being appointed to the bench.  The Committee is always looking for new members.
