Mandatory Fee Arbitration Committee
The FCBA Fee Arbitration Program provides clients and attorneys with a simple method to resolve fee disputes without going to court. Clients can use this program with or without the assistance of a private attorney. Fee Arbitration is an out-of-court hearing regarding a fee dispute between the attorney and client. In a Fee Arbitration, a sole arbitrator or a panel of attorneys and non-attorneys, who are neutral and trained by the State Bar of California, listen to what the client and the attorney have to say, examine the attorney's services to the client and both parties' supporting records, and reach a decision regarding the fee dispute.
