Serving Fresno and limited to surrounding counties, the Attorney Referral Service (ARS) of the Fresno County Bar Association is certified by the State Bar of California (Certificate 0016). ARS assist individuals who are seeking a consultation with an experienced private attorney for representation or assistance with a legal matter.
ARS charges a $50 non-refundable fee to cover the initial consultation with an attorney for up to 30-mins. The consultation is an opportunity for you and the attorney to discuss your legal matter further and determine formal representation. Neither you nor the attorney are under any obligation to proceed beyond the initial consultation. Consultations are coordinated strictly with an experienced attorney qualified in the area of law pertaining to your legal matter. If you choose to hire the attorney for any services, the attorney will set his/her own fee. If the service is not able to refer you to a panel attorney, you will be provided via email with other resources that may of assistance to you. **Please note, this service or the attorneys on this referral panel do not offer free (pro-bono) or modest means (low-income) assistance.**
Your request for a referral must be submitted through this inquiry system, which is monitored throughout the business day, Monday through Friday (except court or major holidays). The referral office will respond to your inquiry by telephone or email, usually within the same business day if submitted prior to 4pm. The Attorney Referral Service office does not accept walk-ins and DOES NOT assist the public with filling out legal documents.
